Barbara Yates, Q.C.

Barbara was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1979 and received the Queen's Counsel ("Q.C.") designation in 2000. She practices primarily in the field of civil litigation, with a focus on personal injury law, civil sexual assault, medical malpractice, estate litigation and contract litigation.

Barbara has taught Civil Litigation and Advocacy at the University of Victoria Faculty of Law since the late 1980s. She has also been an instructor for the Law Society of British Columbia's Professional Legal Training Course for more than 10 years. Barbara is a Past Chair of the Canadian Bar Association Civil Litigation Subsection - Vancouver Island and a former Board member of the Legal Services Society.
