As a legal assistant at Woodward and Company, Sarah is focused on contributing to the firm’s litigation claims. In doing so, her work proves an important source of support to the firm’s solicitors, community, and clients.
One of the key areas of Sarah’s work is electronic document management and exchange. Her attention to detail combined with her ability to always have an eye on the bigger picture allows her to excel at figuring out how to manage large amounts of documents in an efficient way- both for the clients and for the lawyers she works for.
Sarah now has close to 20 years of experience working in her field; but before she became a legal assistant, she took a UVic course in special needs childcare and early childhood education, followed by a SAIT Legal Assistant course, and finally a continuing education course in business management and HR at the University of Calgary. She is currently enrolled in Capilano University’s paralegal certification program, which she began in September 2018.
Throughout her career, Sarah has honed her expertise on electronic document gathering, review, and production. More recently, she’s assisted on big issue files that directly assist and affect people that are being impacted as a community, including her contribution to the Tsilhqot’in Nation’s injunction against Taseko.
