One of Woodward and Company’s lawyers, Liam’s primary areas of practice are human rights, trusts, lands, and corporate governance. Through this work, he is passionate about utilizing the law in the best possible way to facilitate the realization of Indigenous sovereignty.

Liam attended university in his hometown of Victoria. He secured a BA in Philosophy and English and went on to receive the President’s Scholarship for his Juris Doctor Degree. While studying law, Liam was awarded the David Strong Leadership in Legal Studies Award by the Law Foundation of BC, the Law Foundation of BC Public Interest Award, and the Rocky Racoon Award.

Before joining the firm, Liam worked as researcher at the Indigenous Law Research Unit. He was also a legal research assistant for Professor Sarah Morales, conducting primary research on Hul’qumi’num law. He was called to the bar in BC in September 2021.

Liam sees law as a tool that can help remedy the historic and continuing injustices faced by Indigenous people, and as something that can create spaces where Indigenous communities and legal traditions flourish. He is excited to be working in a role that allows him to serve this purpose.
