UVic’s joint Canadian/Indigenous Law degree, and the resulting legal skills are an important part of enabling self-determination and prosperity for Indigenous communities. But it also puts big demands on Indigenous law students, who require a fifth year of expensive education to complete the degree. That’s why Woodward & Co. LLP partner Drew Mildon and his life partner Dr. Athena Madan created an ongoing scholarship to support Indigenous students studying Indigenous law.
