He/Him

Alex joined Woodward & Co. in 2025 as Lawyer. He is committed to advancing Indigenous sovereignty and self-determination, a passion that began during his undergraduate studies through activism and organizing in solidarity with Indigenous land defenders.

Alex originally joined Woodward & Co. in 2023 as a summer student and continued as an articling student in 2024 before being admitted to the Law Society of British Columbia and becoming a lawyer in 2025 . He earned his Juris Doctor through the University of Victoria’s JD/JID program, a joint-degree program in Canadian common law and Indigenous legal orders, and holds a BA in Economics and Philosophy from the University of British Columbia. Before joining the firm, Alex worked as a summer researcher at the British Columbia Law Institute, focusing on aligning provincial laws with UNDRIP, and at an environmental nonprofit. During law school, he volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada, the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program, and served as a peer tutor.

Originally from Vancouver and of Chinese and Scottish descent, Alex brings a unique perspective to his work and is dedicated to building strong relationships with clients to deliver solutions that reflect their priorities and values.
