Tara joined Woodward and Company as a legal assistant in 2023, bringing with her an extensive background in conveyancing. Tara finds the history and cultural concepts of land ownership fascinating. When Tara learned that the LTSA was working on a way to transition their First Nation Land Registry System to align with reconciliation goals, she was keen to get involved ultimately leading her to W&Co. to pursue this work.

Tara applies her nearly 20 years of conveyancing experience to her role at W&Co. Tara’s work keeps her busy and focused largely on land related tasks and working within land title registries, including the FNLRS and the process of adding land to reserves. Tara works side by side with the team’s lawyers and other legal assistants, she is quick to take initiative, enjoys a challenge, understands various business practices, and effortlessly navigates the technological challenges faced regularly in a busy and evolving area of law.

Tara obtained her Legal Assistant Diploma from ICS, Montreal in 2002 and a BA in English Literature from the University of Calgary in 2000. Tara enjoys spending her spare time ballroom dancing, travelling and volunteering for non-profit organizations focused on youth activities.
