She/Her
Stephanie joined Woodward & Co. as a lawyer in 2026. Her practice focuses on environmental law, with particular expertise in marine and fisheries law, Aboriginal law, and constitutional law. At Woodward & Co., Stephanie works on environmental impact assessment processes, fisheries and marine conservation matters, the drafting of First Nations governance and land use laws, specific claims negotiations with Crown governments, the negotiation of impact benefit agreements, and challenges to permits and approvals granted for resource development projects.
Prior to joining Woodward & Co., Stephanie worked at West Coast Environmental Law, a leading environmental law non‑profit organization dedicated to transforming environmental governance by bridging Indigenous and Canadian law. She also worked with the Ontario Ministry of the Environment. Through this work, Stephanie developed a deep understanding of environmental and natural resource governance, as well as regulatory and law‑making processes at both provincial and federal levels. She is a member of the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law’s Ocean Law Group.
Stephanie holds an Arts and Science degree from McMaster University, graduating summa cum laude, and earned her law degree from the McGill University Faculty of Law, where she was named to the Dean’s Honour List. She is admitted to practice law in British Columbia and Ontario, having been called to the bar in both jurisdictions in 2017. Stephanie is proud to support Indigenous peoples in building more just relationships with Crown governments and is motivated to help build a more socially and environmentally just legal system in Canada. After spending eight years living and working on the west coast, she returned to Ontario to join Woodward & Co.’s Toronto office.
