She/ Her

Melissa is a Legal Administrative Assistant at Woodward & Co., supporting the firm’s Toronto team. Since joining the firm in October 2025, Melissa has taken on a wide‑ranging support role, assisting with everything from correspondence and document preparation to day‑to‑day operational needs. She approaches her work with flexibility, enthusiasm, and a strong commitment to ensuring the team has what it needs to succeed.

Melissa brings a unique and diverse professional background to her role. Alongside her legal administrative experience, she has spent years working as a stand‑up comedian, hosting and producing monthly live shows and performing across Canada as part of the Yuk Yuk’s roster. She has worked in law firms since 2016 and values the lasting professional relationships she has built within the legal community. Melissa is currently completing the Law Clerk Diploma program at Seneca College, where she is deepening her understanding of Ontario litigation while applying her learning in real time through her work at W&Co.

Melissa’s educational background reflects her creativity and versatility. She studied Humanities at York University, holds diplomas in Theatre from Humber College, 3D Animation from Seneca College, and Administrative Assistance from an Ontario career college, and is on track to graduate from Seneca’s Law Clerk program with honours. This interdisciplinary foundation supports her strengths as a communicator, researcher, and problem‑solver.

Known for her reliability and initiative, Melissa takes pride in being someone her colleagues can count on. She values clear communication, mutual trust, and respect as the foundation of a strong team and is committed to earning trust through consistency and follow‑through. Melissa was drawn to W&Co. through prior professional connections and was inspired by the firm’s people and culture long before joining the team.

Outside of work, Melissa enjoys graphic design, painting, and writing comedy. She has a strong interest in world news and geopolitics and hopes one day to appear on CBC’s The Debaters, where she can combine her research skills, quick thinking, and love of current events.
