Kate is the Special Projects Lawyer at Woodward & Co., where she collaborates with the leadership team to assess and strengthen firm culture and processes. Her work focuses on creating policies, resources, and systems that uphold best practices in an environment of reconciliation.

Kate joined Woodward & Co. in 2024 as an Articling Student and transitioned to her current role in 2025. She brings extensive experience in legal research, organizational management, and policy development, informed by her academic background and commitment to advancing Indigenous self-determination. Kate holds a Juris Doctor with a Certificate in Aboriginal and Indigenous Laws and a Master of Information specializing in Legal Information from Dalhousie University, as well as a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Calgary.

Throughout her career, Kate has supported projects revitalizing Mi’kmaq laws and governance and recently published an open-access Indigenous Laws Citation Guide in collaboration with the Lnuwey Dêbludaqan Wiguom (Mìgmaq Law Lodge). Her past leadership roles include serving as Co-President of the Dalhousie Indigenous Law Students Association and President of the National Indigenous Law Students Association.

Kate is proudly Red River Métis and a citizen of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government.
